Estimated bridge costs

I've had the most random project come across my desk. I need to determine cost per square foot of several bridge types. I don't have any information or experience with arches, suspension,or cable stayed bridges.

I looked up some signature bridges and found the cost, lengths, and widths for a few different types. However the cost is the overall total and not broken out so I can't determine it for the span of interest.

Does anyone have any good rules of thumb for the types I mentioned above? Obviously it varies region to region, but a good ballpark number would help.

It has been a long time since I used it, but R. S Means publishes a line of construction cost manuals that will give a reasonable, documented way of arriving at an estimate. Here is a link to the manual that addresses bridge construction:
