I am designing a mat foundation in ETABS 21. I have design strips running in both directions. While all design strips are getting designed everything seems except the bottom most horizontal design strip. I dont understand why it says failed, I get it that sometimes high forces might mean dumb amount of rebar, ETABS doesnt seems to show the reason behind the failure. Although the values itself seem not very high, there are other locations of the mat with the same amount of rebar shown but not failing. When I toggle the design to FEM based and not strip based, there isnt high amount of rebar at the same location.
Can anyone help me as to why there is failure shown or how I can figure out whats happening?
