Hi everyone

Can etabs pier labels be used for response spectrum results, where the +be/-ve sign is lost in the SRSS? Can the pier labels adequately convert the absolute resulted at each end of a wall into tension compression resultants?

Well thats what the piers are going to report in a response spectrum analysis.

Can the pier labels adequately convert the absolute resulted at each end of a wall into tension compression resultants?
You're required to interpret the results, i.e. whether for a given direction of loading you're dealing with tension/compression and what moment applies at the same time (for example moments for each direct could be different especially after considering gravity loads). For a symmetrical structure your results will be a matching tension and compression action. You need to determine if the positive or negative moment goes with tension or compression action by understanding what your structure is doing and how the forces are being distributed.

Often applying a series of equivalent static cases is useful for this purpose, to help you determine the appropriate signs and what magnitude/sign of moment goes with tension or compression respectively when you're dealing with the loss of sign in response spectrum results.
