ETABS Sync feature

Has anybody ever tried to build a sync feature in ETABS similar to the sync feature of REVIT? It is such a pain for multiple people to work on a same ETABS model simultaneously. I was wondering that if we could have a feature like sync in ETABS it would improve the overall efficiency by a lot. So, I've decided to altease look into this and see how difficult it could be to build such feature or is it even possible.

I'm here for any suggestions or any leads like if creating a plug in is a way to go? or I should create a python tool which works with API and e2k file to do the syncing? Thank you!
