I have a design application that utilizes a lantern ring in a stuffing box with packing to seal a shaft that rotates in a reciprocating fashion. We are currently building a machine for a European customer and are required to use ISO (metric) thread profiles. Our standard design (imperial thread profiles) includes tapped holes in the face of the lantern ring for use with lantern ring pullers threaded into the tapped holes. We typically size those holes for standard ring pullers (1/4"-20, 5/16"-18, 3/8"-16). I can't seem to find anything online to indicate if there are standard size holes for metric lantern ring pullers.

Does anybody have firsthand knowledge with metric lantern ring pullers and if so, can you point me to a website that will show me the standard sizes?

Much obliged,

Eric

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem.

M6, M8, and M10 are nearly identical to the sizes you listed. A simple substitution is all you need.
