Afternoon,
I've got an issue regarding proving the suitability of a PFC section loaded in compression and bending.

I've read through 6.3 in EN 1993-1-1 but it seems to give no direction for sections that aren't doubly symmetric (RHS & I?). Tata Blue Books gives sectional resistances for PFC but doesn't show how it clearly links back to the loads in Eurocodes.

Has anyone got any familiarity with this subject and can give me some direction, it would be appreciated, thanks?

Hi,

EN 1993-1-3: General rules - Supplementary rules for cold-formed members and sheeting, covers open sections. Be aware that torsional buckling and/or lateral torsional buckling may be geverning here, depending on your application.
