Eurocode part 1-4 on wind loads gives the force coefficients to calculate the total force on a building from wind pressure. Figure 7.23 gives the force coefficients for a building with a rectangular cross section. These coefficients are for a wind blowing in normal angle to the face of the building. But how should I calculate the force from wind blowing from, say, 45 degrees to normal (that is, into the corner of the building)?
Or does the wind from normal direction always give the highest load? I would imagine that the wind now blows along the sides, so this shape (diamond) might be more aerodynamic and therefore less load. But the cross sectional area now facing the wind is also bigger.
As a follow up question I would be interested in knowing how would I calculate the pressure in this case; for example pressure on a window on the surface of the building. I couldn't find anything in Eurocode on that.
