European Metric Rebar End Hook Lengths

Hello,

I am working on a project in which European Metric Rebar sizes (10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm,20mm) are required. I am attempting to find values for recommended end hook lengths for both longitudinal bars and stirrup/seismic stirrup hooks and ties. Most tables only provide recommended end hook length values for standard (soft) metric rebar sizes (10mm,13mm,16mm,19mm).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I may either come across the equations for these end hook values for the European metric sizes (10mm,12mm,14mm,16mm,20mm) or tables with the actual values themselves?

Thanks so much,

Seth

The relevant concrete structures code that you are using would normally have the requirements. It wouldn't be affected by the place of origin.

You say it "uses European metric sizes", but is it in Europe? For Canada, CRSI has just published a metric bard car which details bend diameters. Our newly revised Ready Reference has a few pages regarding Canadian metric size bars. Both of these are available free from our website (I think you end up paying postage). If you are in the US or Canada, you can contact your local region manager, who can provide these documents to you. Locate your region manager at:

CRSI store

For Ldh, hook development length, in Canada, you will likely be required to calculate using ACI lengths.
