Ex Fume hood and Power Sockets

Hi Folks,
I'm specifying a Ex fumehood for a client who will be handling sizeable quantities of flammables in fume hood. It will be Division 2/Zone 2 internally.
In relation to electrical equipment located inside the fumehood, clearly this has to be Ex rated.
My query surrounds the electrical sockets for power supply to this equipment. These will be located on the outside fascia on left and right hand side. My question is .. do the sockets also need to be Ex rated or would normal sockets be sufficient? One part of me thinks normal sockets might suffice given that the sockets themselves are in a safe area. But I have also read that the whole electrical circuit that needs to be considered as a single entity to comply with Ex requirements. Any guidance or thoughts would be really appreciated!

You bring up good points. Logically the sockets wouldn't need to be EX being in the safe area. However, why isn't this all covered by the maker of the hood which has to be LISTED anyway proving its fan won't be an ignition source?

We ran an EX rated hood, the fan was special and Ex proof.
We had no other power in the hood. We didn't want the risk of someone using a non EX proof hot plate inside it.
The junction box feeding the fan was EX proof as well.
We were concerned about fume migration back up the wiring.
