excel automation error in UG Nx2

Hello all,
I am facing repeatative problems in opening modelling spread sheet, it comes out with an error 'excel automation error' and closes the spread sheet. Next attempt to open the spread sheet comes up with an error 'could not connect to spread sheet'

just a chance - but if you are running ZoneAlarm or a similar firewall, it may be interfering with the connection between the spreadsheet and NX. My hunch is that this is not really your problem, but I've experienced major latency issues when running a firewall like ZA; it slows down the connection a lot, so NX thinks it can't connect to the spreadsheet. In this case, you just have to be patient; it connects eventually.

my Nx2 runs through firewall but this error does not appear on all workstations and on all files. I will check with my IT person for the connection.

The error message - excel automation error describes
'com error code 80010105' what does it mean?
we do not have any problem with connection,because Unigraphics is running and the spreadsheet of same file can be opened on another workstation without any problem.
Please clarify me if anybody knows.

What version of excel are you using? Are all the computers involved using the same version of excel? I have heard of problems with excel versions greater than 2000.

I am using excel-97

I am not able to decide this problem is because of
1.connection problems to my licence server
2.incompatible version of excel
3.are there any settings missing which controls connection between Unigraphics NX2 and excel.
I am using Unigraphics NX 2.0.6.2 and MS office 97-excel 8

I have Add-Ins setting in excel (Tools --> Add-Ins -->UG)for UG 'ON'.
