Hello,

I need help with an excel formula: in 2012 on of my lines had a baseline of 97.86% yield. I’m currently tracking 98.22% yield in 2013. Can you post the excel formula to calculate the % reduction in waste?

Student post? Sorry, but this is elementary level math.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

Waste went from 2.14% to 1.78% for a reduction of
16.8 % (as a percentage of the percentages)
0.36% of the total material
Waste is now only 83.2% of what it was.

Been a long time since I read How to Lie With Statistics but you get the idea.

Been in too many conversations with too many weasels who would rather look good than be accurately understood.
