I am enquiring about redesigning a valve. The application is a compressor of some sort using an exhaust valve on the top of the cyclinder.
In some designs have a leaf lock and exhaust valve leaf in the middle of the construction like the electrolux compressor at
they call them ('exhaust valve leaf' & 'exhaust valve retainer')
In another design these two parts have been combined into one exhaust leaf as in
What I want to know is is there a major difference in performance between the two? Can they be used for the same application? Would one design be chosen over the other for a particular application and why? Are there any other differences in design that is not quite as obvious.
Thanks
Peter G.
