Situation: Please see the attached. Demoing an existing non load bearing 2-wythe brick wall (upto where it says STAY). A portion of the brick cracked because I think the beam was bearing partly on the non-load bearing portion as well, plus I believe that the non-load bearing wall was providing lateral support to the load bearing corner. Note that to the right of the STAY line, the wythe in the back has been demoed and then they saw the cracks and stopped with the front wythe. I am going to have them provide a 8” brick pier beyond the stay line with beam fully bearing.
But my main question here is about the cracks within the existing brick. What is the best way to repair those? I am not sure if epoxy or and Hilti adhesive could be used.
