Does anyone have experience with TSA and occasional wetting with sulfuric acid? I would like to use TSA where the piping/equipment is in sweating service (i.e. colder than ambient conditions allowing moisture to diffuse into the insulation). However, there is some resistance to using TSA on piping in an alkylation unit due to the concern that it will degrade when contacted with acid leaks. I am not sure, but it would seem that sulfuric acid might actually help the situation if not too high a strength since sulfuric acid is used as an anodizing solution.
