I have a product label that is composed of text features (in modeling) that have been filled with crosshatching. Now in my ISO drafting view, the text on the label shows through the components that are in the foreground. In a view dependent edit, when I want to delete the crosshatch, the entire block of text is all you can select, so it will delete more than what I want to delete from the view. Is there a way to explode the crosshatching so that I can delete only the portions that should be hidden by the components in the foreground?

I cannot recall what the exact name of it is, but under View Style there should be a toggle for showing components that are hidden by other components. See if that helps you hide the text coming through.

If not, I would put the crosshatching on a different layer (if possible) and not show that layer in the drafting view, then add the partial crosshatching manually. The reason being is that if you're able to explode crosshatching, it will probably end up as individual lines, which you'll have to trim each line to a boundary for the partial hatching you're wanting to see.
