I am integrating SW into my company. I would like to export BOM data to an excel file, or better a csv file. Is there an easy way?

BOM data is already stored as an excel file. Just double click BOM (or right click on BOM and select Edit Bill of Materials)on drawing and then copy and paste.

Thanks Regg,
I was hoping for something that did not involve cutting and pasting. My colleagues use ME10 at the moment, and so are not even regular windows users (sad or what!).

All you have to do is highlight the BOM in the drawing and click File\save as and it saves it as an .xls file

As for how SW04 BOMs will be I'm not sure at this time but I know the BOM's have changed in SW04.

Check out this thread559-20992. The code found there can be easily modified to fit your needs.

Andrew,
thank you very much. I was sure that this topic was not new.

Thanks for posting that reference. I knew we worked on that a ways back, but it saved me from searching for it.

Hello dsi,

thank you again for that code. I used it in a macro in excel to transfer BOM information into an excel spreadsheet.

I think your program is a good candidate for FAQ.
