Dear Experts,

I'm trying to export NASTRAN 101 structural results as a .sim and .fem file for further study. How can I do that? Is there any method in NX10 or a script that helps to do that.

Hello!,
Well, when you solve a nastran model you have created the following files in the simulation directory (where your *.prt, *.sim. *.fem files are located):
• *.dat file: this is the nastran input deck (in ASCII format) generated by NX AdvSim, here you have the full nastran model: nodes, elements, material properties, loads & BCs. Simply share this file and you are sharing the full anstran model (not geometry, of course, only FEM model). In NX AdvSim you can import thid file snd create a new *.SIm and *.FEM files.
• *.f06 file: this is the output file generated by nastran solver in ASCII format (TEXT file). Actually only used to read error messages from the solver, or writing results requested by the preprocessor, or read small data.
• *.op2 file: this is the output binary file generated by the nastran solver with all the results of the analysis. This is binary, then not possible to open with a TEXT editor, you need a FEM/FEA postprocessor like NX AdvSim, FEMAP, etc.. You can import result in NX AdvSIM in see results in the postprocessor.
• *.log file: this is another important output file from nastran solver. It includes important data of the solution & hardware used, and the time used as well by the solver, etc..

Best regards,
Blas.
