I wanted some dimensions from engine assembly into excel. Model was done so that when Stroke changes many other parts update simultaniously..we need some major dimensions to be shown and export to excel..Dimensions like Deck height,liner hieght,Bore,Crank throw etc...

is there way where we can export only few dimensions at a time?

Create 'Measurement' Expressions using...

Analysis -> Measure Distance...

...and then open the Expression dialog and you will see just to the Right of the 'Listed Expressions' item at the top of the dialog a button labeled 'Spreadsheet Edit' which will launch Excel and load all the NX Expressions into the worksheet, which can then be saved as an external standalone spreadsheet file by doing a 'Save-As' operation from Excel. Now you can open the spreadsheet and remove any extraneous or unneeded data.

Thanks..this i have already tried,what i wanted to know was whether we can only export 'Measurement' (filtering the dimensions) because there are 100's of expressions in this file.
This UG file may be used by some other people who may not entirely familiar with UG (any way i will prepare couple of slides so that the guys who are going to use this can do things easily)

Thanks again...

You could write some KF routines which could be used with the expression system, but that'd be about the only way to do it with out a procedure like what I described. There are currently KF routines avialable to 'Read' from a Spreadsheet but nothing pre-programed to 'Write' to a Spreadsheet.

I dont have knowledge of KF ,but i want it in the way i described because of too many expressions in the master file.

any way i will try as per the export method as of now.

thanks again
