hi!
i am looking forward to export a part file to the gambit software from solidworks.
I have been able to export 3dpart files into gambit by first saving the part file from soldiworks to iges file and then importing the same.
but i want to create an airfoil and do the 2d meshing in Gambit software. i thought if i could create sketch in the solidworks and without extruding and save it as iges or other file formats. but it did not work.
Gambit accepts ACIS, STEP, IGES, pro-e step and some other types
can you kindly help me out with this
thanking you
Regards
kartik

Go to File->Save As and then pick the output file format (file type). You have a very wide selection of formats. Some of these have options so be alert to that too, it can make a huge difference in the ability to bring the file in to the other software.

When exporting IGES from SW, check the options (button on the save menu). The option to export sketch curves is usually off by default.

If you can not get SW to export curves in IGES, try making a simple planar surface for your section and export that.
