Extended Entity data tell me about it

ok so....
many questions som i may answer som i may not?
First of all it is my understanding that when adding Extended Entity data to an entity its there invisibly. Unless you know its there you wont know to look for it. Is that right?

Second if I set XData to a block then xplode the block, do the subsequent entities that made up the block all get some of the xdata?

Does someone out there have a easy way of writting, viewing, and exporting to xls, xdata with dialogbox style setup. If so let me know if you can share

if anyone has any sugestions or tips its very much appreaciated

ok read both of those sites thank you but still have questions about xdata...
like...
compair the structure of an attribute (IE tag, Prompt,Value)to the parts and peices of xdata what is compairable is tag = to appname etc..

and if i were to store data for a block that might normaly be stored in a block attribute in xdata, whats the easyest way to write and retrieve? Especially if im going to need to go to excell and or access.
