Dear all,
I'm checking for the Mechanical Calculation, made by Compress, for a big Vessel(Crystallizer) designed according to ASME VIII div.1 (Design Pressure 0.5/-1; Design Temperature 100°C). From the top to the bottom, the vessel is made as follow: the inlet nozzle with an Ring type integral flange DN1600 + Cylindrical shell course O.D.1600; Transition Cone from O.D.1600 to O.D.3000 and so on up to the botton elliptical head.
The flange calculation (inlet nozzle) was carried out taking into account the external loads due to piping (Acc. to Appendix 2 and the Equivalente Design Pressure) but the above mentioned loads were not considered into the shell calcualtion.
How should have the Vendor considered these external loads in calcualtion, considering that WRC Calculation is not applicable?
I don't know if I got it across.
Bye bye...
