Hi,
I added the variable UGII_STANDARD_FONT_DIR in the ugii_env.dat file.
The NX log says UGII_STANDARD_FONT_DIR \\XXX\YYY\ZZZ\FontAggiuntivi\.
In the 'FontAggiuntivi' folder there is FUTURA_BOLD_ITALIC_BT.ttf
This is what I discovered : 'You can use custom fonts by placing the font files in a directory referenced by the UGII_STANDARD_FONT_DIR environment variable.'
When I add curve->text, the font is not present.
If I install in c:\windows\fonts, this extra font is present in all situation.
Where I wrong ?

Thank you...

Correct me if i am wrong, but If it is a Truetype, it should ( must?) reside in the c:\windows\fonts and no further action required.
If the font is a NX-font such as .fnx, you can set the UGII_STANDARD_Font-etc to define a different directory away from the default font directory under the NX install directory.

I.e , if it is a "standard windows font" you need not do anything.
If it is a "non standard" true type it must be installed on all computers that will open the specific part. ( I don't know if NX will encapsulate used True Type fonts in the partfile.)

Thank you Tomas,
as you can see from the attached font, this is a truetype font (.ttf).
I thought that the variable is for share extra font to all NX users, then I need to install this font to all users ?

Thank you...

Good question, I don't know if NX has some way of defining a "True type font directory".
Hopefully somebody else can help on this.

Tomas

The environment variable is used ONLY by the Drafting module for controlling where to look for additional Drawing fonts in addition to those found in the Windows font folder. This was done since some users may work where they do not have 'write' access to Windows folders. However the Curve -> Text function ONLY looks in the Windows font folder. Perhaps someone needs to open an ER so that BOTH Drafting and Modeling honors the UGII_STANDARD_FONT_DIR environment variable.

Thank you John for the clarification.
I will add an ER.
