is there a way to extract the sketch from a feature? like "share sketch" from inventor? I have created a feature and would like to use its sketch to drive subsequent features without having to child "dumb" sketchs?

tear-off sketch is the closest thing that i can find, but does not seem to want to work with "packaged" features, and is greyed out.

Thanks.

Hi Arlenn,
The short answer is no, and this is one reason why some people do create separate sketches for all their features, rather than having the geometry, as you say, 'packaged' as part of a feature.
If you want to use a sketch for more than one feature, then it has to be created as a sketch.
I think you have 3 options -
1. Use copy and paste to create new sketches that will not be related to the original.
2. Use copy and paste to create a new sketch and the re-define your original feature to use the new sketch.
3. Use the 'Include' command to create associative geometry
from your original feature.
