Hi, I have been using Ansys to try and reduce a 2D axisymmetric model to a line of points that represent the model by its mass and stiffness matrices. I have tried many ways of doing this and have achieved the best results by using CMS substructuring and constraint equations.
Is there a different or better way of achieving this?
Also I would like to be able to extract the stiffness and mass matrices of the points from ansys. I have used the SELIST command and brought up a file but am unsure what exactly the matrix 1 and 2 listed actually represent?
Also is there a way of then inputting these points with the matrices back into ansys so that the original model can be represented by just a line of points and then a modal analysis performed on them?
I’m sorry for the very vague description of my problem; I am new to Ansys so the correct terminology and methods are yet to be fully understood!
Thanks in advance
