Hi There,
I'm trying to verify the results of a cosmos analysis of a solid disc flywheel to my theoretical calculations.
The model is pretty simple - a 45 degree wedge with the software material properties, 2 flat face restraints along with a fixed edge restraint. A centrifugal load along the axis with the angular velocity.
The results seem fine, but I'm struggling to extract the radial and tangential stress at a certain defined point - a point that I need to verify the design and my calculations.
Cosmos help files tell me I need to define the plots using my center axis as a reference and then use the probe tool to probe these points at the desired location.
Can anybody give a tip on how to accomplish this? I'm sure its a simple thing to do - Soildworks provide a verification example of a very similar example, but no explanation on how they extract the results.
I forgot to mention - I'm using cosmsworks 2007 (and that i feel like a noob for asking this question).
Many Thanks
