Extrude or Trim to Desired Surfaces

Hi,

I have a couple of reference pins that I have in the same part file - in this case, the turbine blade file.

I've been instructed that doe to ProE WF 4.0 (or all versions), that ProE cannot have 2 or more solids in the same file & still be able to control the layers to hide / unhide in desired drawing views.

Therefore, I need to make these pins as Surface representation. However when doing this, I was not able to select desired end faces or cannot trim the elongated pins to the desired end faces of the turbine solid.

Please provide instructions....
