F65 VS ASTM A105N FLANGE TEST PRESSURES

Hello,

Can anybody advise me what hydrotest test pressures the below flanges can safely take:

1) 3"SCHXXS WN 10000PSI RTJ API6A 6BX - ASTM A105N
2) 3"SCHXXS WN 10000PSI RTJ API6A 6BX - ASTM A694 F65
3) 8" x 25.4mm WN 10000PSI RTJ API 6A 6BX - ASTM A105N
4) 8" x 25.4mm WN 10000PSI RTJ API 6A 6BX - ASTM A694 F65
5) 10" 18.3mm WN CL2500 RTJ API 6A 6BX - ASTM A105N
6) 10" 18.3mm WN CL2500 RTJ API 6A 6BX - ASTM A694 F65

The reason i ask is that we have some spools that require hydrotesting, but some spools have open ends that will be tied in offshore..therefore i need to know if the proposed "temporary flanges" will be capable of seeing a hydrotest pressure of 444Barg for the CLASS 2500 flange & a pressure of 786Barg for the 10000PSI flanges.

At temperatures below the de-rating pressure they are all more or less the same in B 16.5

BTW what is a #2500 6A6BX flange. This is mixing two flange codes surely?

Are you making this up? Table 5 of API 6A only lists 60K and 75K material for a 10000 flange.

A105 doesn't normally come in yield strength that high so who is suggesting you use a amterial which isn't listed in API 6A??

BTW this isn't really a "Boiler and pressure vessel" forum question. You're better off in pipelines piping and fluid mechanics...

Please check again on the 10k psi A105N flanges. The 10k + psi flanges that I have come across are made from 60/75k material (4130 etc.) As LittleInch said before, A105 doesn't normally fall into the requirements you would need to hold that sort of pressure. I am no expert on the subject, but I would urge purchasing an ideal flange for the hydro.

API has specific material strengths for WN flanges. Please verify that your A105N is compliant before testing.
