IN UNIGRAPHICS THE F8 BUTTON WILL CHANGE YOUR VIEW TO THE CLOSEST ABSOLUTE VIEW. THE BUTTON CAN NO LONGER BE USED ON THE SPACEBALL 5000. ANY SUGESTIONS?

Not sure what your question is? Could you be a little more precise as to what it is that you're looking to address or resolve?

I FOUD IT IN ANOTHER POST AFTER DIGGING. THE F8 BUTTON WILL PLACE YOUR SCREEN IN THE CLOSEST ABSOLUTE VIEW. THE F8 BUTTON WORKS BUT COULDNOT GET IT ON THE SPACEBALL. IT IS NOW UNDER THE

3DXNX>BUTTON MAP EDITOR
HELP>ONLINE SUPPORT>SNAP VIEW

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY BUT WAS UNABLE TO PROGRAM THE F8 BUTTON?

IN WINDOWS THE CAPS LOCK BUTTON WILL change your characters from normal to capital or the other way around. The button can apparently no longer be used on your computer.
Suggestion: try it!

THEN WHEN I TYPE SOMETHING I UG IT IS ALL SMALL THEN CAPS THEN SMALL. YOU ARE CORRECT, I HAVE REMOVED THE BUTTON FROM MY COMPUTER.

SUGESTIONS: GET USED TO IT

Does the use of the past tense mean the problem is now solved? I have a space explorer and was able to program F8 no problem.

F8 is also handy because it will orient your view to the selected planar entity (face, datum plane, etc) even if it is not parallel to an ortho view.

Which reminds me...
John, did you find anything regarding thread561-247593?

YES PROBLEM IS SOLVED. THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

John, did you find anything regarding thread561-247593: NX6 and F8?

I just checked out NX 7.5 and if you use the default 'Load Lightweight Representations' option than you will also need to toggled ON the 'Load Smart Lightweight Data' option found at...

Customer Defaults -> Assemblies -> Site Standards -> Lightweight Representations

However, if you're not opening your assembly using Lightweight Representations then the F8 function will now work whether Partial Loading is ON or not, just like it always did prior to NX 5.0.

As for NX 6.0.5.3, it's still NOT behaving as it did prior to NX 5.0, so somewhere in either NX 7.0 or NX 7.5, someone addressed this issue.

Thanks for the update, John.
I'm on 7.5 now and it seemed to be working, but have not done thorough testing. Glad to hear it was fixed.

John,
Apparently it's not his problem but ours.

FILB,
It is common courtesy, especially when asking others for assistance, not to shout at them. They will be less likely to render aid to you in the future when shown such disrespect. That I can get used to also.

I think he is unfamiliar with forum decorum. He is probably unaware that all caps is shouting.
