I have had a contractor ask to use fab-forms on one of their projects. Has anyone had any experience with this product? Is there anything that I should be concerned about with a product like this? The only thing I can really think of is that they don't pull the fabric too tight which would reduce the width of the footing. Here is a link to the products website.

Any input would be appreciated.

I don't see why fabric forms cannot be used. I have some papers on it from a few years ago. The ACI Manitoba Chapter had a talk on it a couple of years ago... see what I can dig up...

Thanks dik! If you are able to dig anything up, I'd like to read through it.

Interesting as a form liner. Limited application as an actual form. That video presentation doesn't do much to promote the material to professionals...look at the column construction and the way he pushes the anchor bolt cage down into the fresh concrete...bolts right near the edge, and apparently no reinforcement in the column.

You can form fairly large footings using relatively small dimensioned lumber and draping the fabric around it and then fill it with concrete... Saves a whole bunch of formwork construction. The info presented by ACI Manitoba was pretty impressive.
