Does anyone know the typical (recommended or "rule of thumb") life of a fabric expansion joint?

Gonna need more information.

An expansion joint in:
ductwork
concrete
???

How about the environment?

Is it coated cloth?

What kind of coating?

I'm not sure which I hate more, pronouns or acronyms.

Maybe he/she should just stop eating so much and moving so little. Then he/she wouldn’t need expansion joints in their fabric. 😊

The answer ( You are going to hate this. ) is it depends. It depends on the type of fabric, Canvas , Polyester, Kevlar, Rubber coated polyester. The Atmosphere around the joint and the degree of sunlight radiation the material is exposed to.
When you have those factors, you can make a SWAG ( another acronym.) as to the service life.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

I assume you are asking about:
"Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is one of the most important conversion processes used in petroleum refineries. It is widely used to convert the high-boiling, high-molecular weight hydrocarbon fractions of petroleum crude oils to more valuable gasoline, olefinic gases, and other products."
