I have a question that I wondered if anybody here had some insight into.
I had to switch to Alibre from Solidworks and am now using 2012 Pro.
I have a customer who uses Solidworks and would like files sent to him as SLDPRT or SLDASLM files. I can do this with Alibre. but when I do, he receives them with faces missing on some pieces. Revolved solids and chamfers seem to be the worst offenders.
When I export the same file to him as a STEP 214 file he receives the files with all of the faces intact. But for some reason he would prefer the SLDPRT files
Is there a problem with importing externally generated files into solidworks or is the customer looking for a convenience I cannot give him?
B.E.
The good engineer does not need to memorize every formula; he just needs to know where he can find them when he needs them. Old professor
