Dear Sirs,
Please let us know the conclusion of HDPE butt joint quality assesemnt when a sample failed during reverse bend back test at field.
We used to this test at field(s) to ensure fusion parameters and machine readiness before start of production joints in every day. At fusion, site weather conditions are cole(5 - 8 Deg.C at site) in the early morning while doing fusion activity. We are using tent which will be controlled site conditions & taking all necessary precautions and ensuring correct fusion parameters followed.. Occassionally we observed the failure of one sample out of 4 samples (Cut from 0, 90, 180, 270 Degree positions) in a single joint. The failure of joint appears as cold fusion. Is this considered as normal & what could be root cause and consequences of such failure?
Seeking experts openion in this regard.
Thanks in advance...
