family table assembly and BOM's

Hi,

I have an assembly with multiple configuirations. There are 3 components in it, and the first 2 components are common to both configurations, but the -1 configuation has a different third component than the -2 configuration. I've set up a generic model with a -1 configuration and a -2 configuration on top of one another and then used the family table option to include only one configuration or the other.

I'm now trying to set up my BOM and I want the P/N, Item, etc and then a qty column for each configuration. Is there a way to have my BOM build itself based on the assemblies specified by the family table? Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do? I can always just manually input the columns and qty's but I'd like to automate it.

Thanks

This worked well for displaying the family table data for a part, but I'm having difficulty making the table build it self for the parts in an assembly model. The region is driven by the generic model, but I think I want to somehow drive it based on all the family table members of the generic model. I'm looking for something like this.

-1 -2 Find No P/N
qty qty
1 1 1 xxxxxxx
1 - 2 xxxxxxx
- 1 3 xxxxxxx

What I am getting is entries only for the driving model, in this case the generic model (2 entries). My generic assembly is based on my -1 configuration and then the family table replaces item 2 with item 3 for the -2 configuration. The table needs to generate entries for both family table members and come up with a total of 3 entries.

Any thoughts on how I can do this?

Maybe there is some way to drive my repeat region based on multiple models (all members of the fmaily table). Does anyone know if that can be done?
