Fanuc RJ3 connection to serial port

I need some help on using the RS232 port on a Fanuc RJ3 robot. I know this transmision must be done in karel, but i have had no success. could someone point me in the right dirrection?

Are you trying to send files through the port? I'm struggling with that right now with my RH controller. I've figured out how to send strings through the port but not files. In Karel, you use the OPEN FILE, READ and WRITE commands.

No, I was just trying to send strings through the port. Umm, I figured it out now though. I forgot I had to set port 2 to Host Comm. Now Im trying to do the same with an ethernet cable. Damn customer changed their mind... again
