To design against overturning, I will fasten a wood stud wall to concrete foundation wall with 3/8 x 3 1/2" Rawl Spike at 32" oc.

What are your ideas for fastening steel stud walls to foundation?

Thank you!

Simpson has a bunch of products to tie structures down. We typically specify one of their anchors at the end of all wood or metal stud shear walls.

You will need to be creative with some of these connections. Just make sure the mechanics work. Local stresses can be very significant.

The Light Steel Framing Manual has products for that. Stiff-Clip they are called, and have them for various stud thicknesses and allowable moments.
Check They have downloadable CAD details, and may have the allowable design loads for Stiff Clips also.

I fix a TS and tie it to the wall often for a fix base connection. I suppose there's a place for Stiff-Clips too. Thanks for the tip.
