For small quantities of nearly anything:
Their print catalog makes excellent reading, and will introduce you to things of which you may be unaware. They supply free CAD models for much of their stuff.

Traditionally biased toward electrical supply, but now also covering MRO, and offering local stocking and fast delivery. Their print catalog should be on your desk if you buy any kind of electric motors, ever.

Oriented more toward cutting tools and such, but also MRO, fast delivery, and a huge and interesting print catalog:

I haven't used mscdirect but will say I find mcmasters website easier to use than grainger.

Or you may be able to find a local hardware source, we used to use one but then got transferred to grainger by corporate, then when we got spun off got someone else, I've lost track.

Mcmaster aren't always the best at guaranteeing items meet applicable codes/standards etc. if this matters for you.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

The last time I went to Graingers for a personal project, I went to the store with an ordered list of nine(!) motors, any of which would be okay as a replacement for my sprinkler pump. The list was basically ordered by efficiency. They gave me the usual hassle about wholesale only until I produced a business card.

The local store had exactly none of the motors in my list in stock or available. What they did have was a PSC POS that pulled much more current for the same power than any of the others. OTOH, it's been running fine for ten years.

That happened before their last internal reorganization, and they've demonstrated better performance wrt to having what's in the catalog, on the stuff I've bought for company projects since then.
