When you size a fastener for a load, do you typically make allowances for variation in load due to vibration?

Or would you hope that the variations are covered by a safety factor?

Hi

If I was designing a bolted joint I would use several fasteners each capable of taking the single load given, I would preload each bolt above the load given in the design and if I was really concerned about vibration loosening I would use nordlock washers.
If you provide more detail on what you are trying to do we may be able to help you further.

Appropriate tensioning should accommodate vibration effects.
