fatal error after save part in NX5

i am getting a fatal error and lose my nx5 session after save part. i am running on a 64 bit platform (ibm intellistation)with 8 gb of ram. this machine was originally used to run catia.i have thought it might be the graphics card (quadro fx5500) but i'm sure it has the latest driver. i also thought it might be the space pilot as it seemed it would crash when i went back to do more work. any suggestions??

There was just a report on another board that people have had trouble with NX crashing due to a bad Spaceball driver and found that they had to update to the latest version from 3Dconnexion's website to cure the problem.

yes i have updated that driver too. that was my suspicion i have even posted on 3Dconnexion website and have had no respondses. i'm wondering if it is a 3Dconnexion driver problem because of the 64 bit os.

The other place where this was reported also had to do with 64-bit systems and the final note stated that he downloaded version 6.5.4 of the 3Dconnexion's driver and that this solved his problems.

i'm using 6.5.5 reported through the 3Dconnexion control panel.

Note that I'm also using the 3DConnexion's Driver version 6.5.5 but then I'm also only on Window XP 32-bit.

ok i think i have found out what my problem is with this fatal error business. i had turned on the save reminder when i first set up NX5. i have noticed that this crash and error happens after i do save with the reminder.

i have turned this feature off now and have not had this problem for some time now.
