I'm trying to perform FE analysis on an upright for a FSAE race car and in creating the loading scenarios I have trouble accurately representing the loading going into the part. Suspension members bolt onto the part and the transmitted load can be represented as a bearing force through the bolt hole but the axial force component (transmitted through the part at the washers) is hard to model. Is there any way I can have a force act only on a specified portion of a face? Is there a better way I should be doing this?
