Even though you are analyzing a beam attached to a base plate, you are analyzing such a short segment you shouldn't be using a beam element for it. Delete the one no penetration contact you have unless you are trying to analyze a broken weld. After that reapply your loading using a force and a torque on the solid at the end of the beam. It will run, then do your proper mesh refinements.

Thank you "gravityandinertia".

I did you have suggested i.e.

1. removed the 'no penetration' contact set
2. re-applied the load on the beam element - earlier i applied the load on the end node
3. re-run the mesh and analysis

However, now getting an error 'please define bonded contact sets between beam and solid/sheel'

Would greatly appreciate if you can help further.

Looks good to me as far as a successful setup goes, whether or not it practically matches your loading scenario and fixtures in the real world I can't say.

You're welcome.
