For one of our products - basically a large Archimedes spiral screw pump - I have to layout the flights for weldment.
I can model the thing with a swept helix, but the finished assembly is rather taxing on my PC - ie. it takes too long to save the drawing and quite frequently my PC locks up.
Of course, there are other ways I can model this thing, but without trying and testing all my options, I wonder if anyone has a list for me.
This list would have all the SolidWorks features and patterns and such in order of difficulty.
Using this, I could probably model this screw pump the least taxing way the first time, thus saving some time and heartache.
Does such a list exist?
Anyone?
