Federal Specification standards and updates 1

Good Morning, (Well it is here at the present time),

Perhaps some of you out there whom may do a lot of military/US government work can point me in the right direction. We recently recieved a plan check correction from an outside plan checker and were told that our references in some of our electrical specifications sections were outdated. We use a CSI format specification and some of the sections, such as 16111-Conduit have references to Federal Specifications, (FS WW-C-581, Rigid Conduit), etc.... But when I went on the GSA website to try to get updates, I ended up doing electronic pirhouettes. I couldn't track down the list of the standards. I did search after search and came up empty. Does anyone out there have a link or website that works? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is going to be fun tracking, once all these CSI specification section numbering changes begin to be adopted more widely. I've been doing this 25 years and am finally pretty comfortable with the system, and here we go again.

The specification originator should not be able to legally {or ethically} call out standards that he does not possess and reasonably make available to prospective bidders.

Of course—the bidder is not exempt from costs or efforts for obtaining standards texts.

The government system is modeled on CSI, but not exactly. The CSI section numbers change frequently. As busbar suggested, CSI specs are copyrighted. Just to keep things interesting, CSI MasterFormat 2004 overhauls the numbering system completely.
