Feeder breaker 1

[Power2all]

I can’t believe I am asking this... but here it is... Which one of the following is a feeder breaker (a) Switchgear Input Breaker or (b) Switchgear Output breakers supplying power downstream.
Put another way... does the feeder in the 'feeder breaker' refer to the downstream feeders or the switchgear input feeder?

It could depend. Where are you and what is the code definition of a feeder for your locale?

Thanks davidbeach. I am in Canada - This is what the CEC says:
"Feeder — any portion of an electrical circuit between the service box or other source of supply and the branch circuit overcurrent devices."
soo... Input breaker it is.

Good article on this: Based on US NEC, but I would imagine that the CEC is similar.

"The main difference is that a feeder runs between an overcurrent protection device (OCPD) at the supply and a downstream OCPD (typically supplying a branch circuit), while a branch circuit runs between an OCPD and an outlet (or final load). In other words, a feeder supplies power to a branch-circuit OCPD — which, in turn, powers a branch circuit. "
