Hi
I have a project about Flexible Mechanical Calculation.
I have a problem. As you know due to effect of 2 or 3 phase short circuit fault on main conductors applies tensile forces. Now you suppose a span which have only 1 conductor. In the usual situation it carries 150 ampers. suddenly a 1 phase short circuit accure and 10 KA flow in the conductor. do you think that this fault produce any tensile force?
Thanks alot.

Magnetic forces from fault currents are lateral forces and don't directly affect the tension in the bus.

The force depends on the distance between the current in the bus conductor and the return current. Where is the return current if there is only one bus conductor?
