Using a resin storage tank for ferric chloride.

The spill containment structure will be concrete.

What type of concrete should be used?
Type of coating for the rebars?

Any insight would be appreciated.

thanks

There are many brands that make chemical resistant coatings for concrete. Tnemec ( or Carboline ( are both pretty reputable. There are many, many others, each with the magic bean that will solve your problem forever.
However, we have seen many problems with these type of coatings. They are very difficult to apply, usually beyond the expertise of a normal coating contractor. If they fail after application, the manufacturer blames the applicator and the applicator blames the manufacturer. Plus contractors are impatient, not letting the concrete fully cure before applying the coating. This almost always results in the coating delaminating.
I would advise making a quick economic evaluation. Is it really worth paying a lot of money ($15/sq. ft.) for some coating that might or might not work or is it cheaper to repair any damage due to a leak? Even though tanks spring leaks in the middle of the night, normally spills happen during operation and there is staff there to dilute the stuff and pump it out, reducing the damage.
