Hi all,

I understand that 2 part epoxy is common for FBE open cut pipe materials, for bore section where it has to be pulled and coated with ARO for abrasion, what are some options for a good coating for that situation. I'm thinking something in the power crete line but have not experience in that..

thanks for your help.

As much as possible, do it right the first time...

Various two part epoxies will work. Some have been formulated for abrasion resistance as you know, or some already have better abrasion resistance than others. I have used Skotchkote 328, Special Polymer Coating SPC-1842 and 2888 for the girth welds of a bore for exampole, or repairs. I think I have also used Powercrete J, it didn't seem any different than any other of the epoxies. All of these have been formaulated for abrasion resistance. Most of the coating manufacturers have an abrasion resistant version of epoxy, you can check with them and most would provide results from abrasion tests they have done, so you can compare. You may also go with something like the Canusa TBK system if you didn't want to go with two part epoxy.

mechempro,
I work at the moment with Resimac products I work and sell it as distributor. In the past I have worked for Belzona. the company Resimac is comming from people which have worked for Belzona and Thortex. Thortex is taken over by 3 M and the |Skotchkote is something from them. At the moment for these applications your either choose for a normal ceramic coating which you can use up to 60 C full immersion. Or a coating the hta or hts depending on the chemical load up to 120 C.

Whenever you would like to have more info. Don't hesitate to contact me.
