Hi,

regarding ASME VIII Div.1 Fig.UW-13.2, for example (c), is it possible to weld a corner joint with angle different from 90°, e.g. 100° or 80°?

Is there an interpretation or is it strictly forbidden?

Thank you

I would be interested to know the construction details. UW-13.2 is for welding flat plates. How can a flat plate have an angle less than or more than 90° ??.
Classifying it as a cone would be more appropriate.

I think instead of corner joint you can classify it as a category B , angle joint ( Type 8 per table UW-12 ). See examples of non permissible joint in fig UW-13.1 and UW-2 for more guidance.
