File vault program

Hi everyone,

I work at a smaller company that uses CATIA and we are starting to get to the point of needing a file vault. We are wanting one that for example would not allow someone to open and modify your model or assembly if you have it open or checked out. I guess you could say something similar to ENOVIA VPM. Also since we are smaller the more inexpensive the better. what are other people using? Can you give me any ideas? Thanks

Hi,

You can also use a file server instead of a PLM/PDM package to save on cost.But i am not sure exactly how much feasible it is for your requirement.As far as i know you can assign read/write access rights on the data on the file server.
