hey all,
I am actually trying to calculate the fin area and the total area for a plain fin.I want to know how do you calcuate this two areas.
please let me know

The area of the fin depends upon the mode of the cooling that you are going to use and the extent of the heat load you are planning to cool down. Depending on the type of application you are looking at, you have different options.

the size of the condenser (i.e the fin size and length of the condenser for a external finned condenser) is limited by the space availability generally and dictated by the type of cooling you are doing, i.e. natural convection, foced convection.
