Finding Links from Other Assemblies

When we send files to manufacturing, we use the File/Send to command and send our entire master assembly to
another directory on our server. Our master assembly usually consists of 50-100 sub assemblies and 400-600 catparts.
When we start a new job, we start with a default master assembly template. As we design, we may take some of the components from the previous jobs and use them again on the new job. (using file/save management/propogate into the new directory). Now when we do our File/Send to/ it wants to send both master assemblies down because of the links. Is there a way to find out what components
are linked so we can re-define there links to the new assebly.

Hi,

Your question is somehow similar with this , in both questions you have to understand how Search Order is working in CATIA. Hope I understood well, in your case you can also use Copy-Paste-BreakLink to reuse components from another assy (if is already loaded in CATIA).

Best way to understand this is to go in Tools - Options - General - Document - click on Other Folder - Configure - Export...

Then look in the text file generated. CATIA will search and load the files exactly in the order written there. If you will change the rows/paths (or you will delete few of them) you will notice CATIA will do (or not) something else. Of course this depends on how your CATIA Linked Document Localization is configured.

A good example is here .

Another solution can be also to use DMU Navigator license....DMU DataFlow...

Fernando
